• Fall

Many people tend to overlook fall lawn and property maintenance, but taking some time in the fall to prepare your lawn and property for winter is beneficial and can avoid problems later on.

By removing fallen leaves and debris, it is not only aesthetically pleasing but will also allow your lawn to get the sunlight and airflow it needs, this can also help prevent diseases such as snow mould and deter some rodent problems.

Because of the cool weather and warm soil temperatures fall is a perfect time for many common lawn care practices such as Core Aeration to help loosen compacted soil and allow water, air & fertilizer to get to the root zone, Top Dressing to add organic matter which can build up the soil flora and promote a thicker healthier lawn, as well as Overseeding and Fertilization just to name a few.  So why wait until spring when you can get a head start by doing it in the fall!

Fall is also a great time for any last minute landscaping projects, pruning trees and bushes as well as cutting down perennials. And lastly don’t forget to make sure that your eavestroughs are clear and running before winter.  Be proactive, don’t wait until your eaves are clogged before cleaning them out. Clogged eavestroughs can wreak havoc and result in damage to fascia, soffit, roofing or even begin leaking into your home
